Around the world people practice pistol disciplines in which the shots must be fired in a certain time span. Examples of this are Center-, Standard- and Rapid Fire.

To practice these disciplines a system for turning the targets is needed. This system, containing numerous electronic circuits, is expensive.

An observant handyman will find that he is able, not just to build the mechanical part of this system, but the electronic part too. To support the handymen within the different clubs, some useful software is available now. With this software, the PC can be used to control the system for turning the targets to and away. Schematics of hardware interfaces are included.

Using the serial communication port of the PC and a controlling unit, which can be built quite easily, the turning to and away from the targets can be controlled. If a controlling unit is connected, the turning of the targets as well as the starting of the time cycle can be controlled using two buttons some distance away from the PC.

If pistol target shooting have your interest and one of the programs is of any use to you or your club, feel free to visit this page again to see if there are some downloadable updates.
